Re: BBQ: Damian, Leena, Misha & Sadie
She did feel a twinge of regret when her gaze drifted back to Sadie, who was pale until the blankets started coming out -- courtesy of Misha. Then came that sheepish grin, not the full on bright Sadie one but came only occasionally. It was enough that she nudged her shoulder into the other girl's and smiled at her, warm and gentle.
"Thanks, Misha." She didn't ask about the speed, or where he had them hiding. He probably did the same thing he'd done that night they had to get into Damian's rehab and that wasn't a conversation she inclined on having again.
"And thank you too, Damian" she offered as he straightened out the quilt on the grass. It was perfectly even in a way that was definitely not going to remain the moment any of them stepped onto it and sat down, but it was pristine for the moment.
It made her want to avoid it entirely, and jump on it until it was dented by her feet in the center and ruffled around the edges simultaneously. She did neither, but helped Sadie unpack. "And thank you too, for all of this," Leena said quietly. She'd never thought the teasing of Damian might have hurt Sadie, and that was the last thing she ever wanted to do.
On the subject of cornbread though, it was her time to go a bit wide-eyed. With honey? Without honey? Honey did sound good, but she gave a little shrug of her shoulders as she looked at the boys. They could decide for themselves what they wanted, though she was inclined to go with the implication in Sadie's tone.
Edging up to the corner of the blanket, she listened for Damian's response, even as her gaze settled on Misha. "I'm really glad you came. I'm glad we all came," she added, grinning a little sheepishly as she glanced at all of them, gaze finally stopping on Sadie.
