Re: log: adrian/wren - adrian's house
"On the network and then I met him by the forest." he advised, innocent to how sketchy that actually sounded. Luckily, Archie had been a complete gentleman and very gentle with Wren; he'd walked into situations much worse before now but those lessons never seemed to stick, Wren's inexplicable trust in people unbroken.
He was overwhelmed by Adrian's kind offer of clothes, although where he'd put them if he took them was another matter altogether. "Wow, thank you Adrian! You're so, so kind!" He was truly touched at the generosity and didn't quite know how to react. "I don't want to get them all dirty though, they might get dirty in the woods." he worried, biting at his lip a little.
He watched Adrian make the pasta like he'd never seen it happen before, which, yeah. He peered over at the pot, keeping his distance like it was a live thing that might strike him. "Oh no!" Adrian may as well have told Wren that he'd lost his arms and legs during the incident. He gave Adrian a look over like there would be some sign of his illness that he might have missed.
A 'feeling that something wasn't right' reminded Wren of the time he'd felt ill, around the time that the lake had gone all terrifying and horrible with all the life in it floating belly up, and he told Adrian as such. "But I don't think it was because of a noise." he continued. "I don't think I got it, my ears didn't hurt or anything." It was clear that Wren hadn't been able to fully grasp the concept. "Scary things happened in the woods."
