Re: [Lake: Misha/Damian.]
Misha wasn't surprised none by the way Damian leaned into the nuzzling and the attention. Damian, he was like Pennyworth some, and he liked being petted. Misha, having never had pets 'fore, hadn't never considered that a person could remind him of one, but Damian was real feline in a whole lot of ways. He wasn't surprised none, neither, at Damian's statement 'bout not liking Tim. Damian and his brother, they hadn't never seen eye-to-eye, but Misha knew that wasn't what this was 'bout any.
It was 'bout growing up, and Damian had to go through that learning, the fact that folks went and moved on, just like everyone did. The fact that Damian was physically older, that didn't mean it would be easier none.
He cupped the back of the other boy's head, and he held him real close. "I know. He was real judgmental," he said of Tim. Too, he knew Tim was hurt over Damian's sister, and that Tim was real confused 'bout near everything, but Misha'd learned some not to go voicing them things always. He pulled back some, and he tried to tip Damian's chin just a spell. "I think we always miss kin when they go. It's always hard, even if we don't like them any. Family units, even makeshift ones we create later, we depend on them, I reckon."
