It was true that neither of them were currently rulers. He didn't know if she was taking a break, much like he was, or if it was something else that brought her to earth. It didn't much matter, since they were both playing at being human among humans. Whether or not they were any good at the roles was another matter.
Her clothing, demeanor, the way she laughed - she was intriguing. Not in a way he desired, but in a way he'd like to possibly know better. At some point. For the time, he was content to let the two of them part to their separate things. And though he caught the flick of her gaze, he only smiled. Whether or not he did anything with the waitress... he hadn't yet decided.
And then she was gone, and Lucifer looked around the diner, smiling at the discomfited way that people's focus slid away from him. This town was going to be fun.
