Re: Diner: Hel & Lucifer
It was particularly interesting to be considered young when, to his experience, he along with his brothers and sisters had existed from the very beginning. It was one of the particular quirks of human belief, he supposed. Or he would, if he thought particularly much upon the matter. For himself, he felt older than the hills, especially in the times leading up to his 'vacations' from Below. And after all, from his point of view, he was far older than her - a goddess created once his Father's beloved humans had settled in the shivery north.
In truth, he didn't disagree with her assessment what had become christianity. The faith itself was far from anything he desired. It was the flattening and muting of the things that should be best about the humans' short lives. And for what? A chance to maybe go to Heaven? None of them could even be certain that Heaven was real, but yet they paid lipservice to living a life for goodness. So the people in the tiny town concerned themselves with him and his presence? It only guaranteed that things would stay interesting. And though she had a point, in a way, about human belief being the most important thing, he also knew the power of real truth. So let her believe her beliefs. He could accept that they were different than his, and he only replied with a subtle cant of his head.
Though "playing" was one thing, and a thing he kept focused to his Father's creations, it didn't keep him from interaction with the children built of other beliefs, like her and her brothers. Though nothing nearing the torment that so many blamed him of. And as far as keeping each other up to date with the interests of the town... He figured they could agree on that. As she stretched one arm through the sleeve of her jacket, he caught her fingers and pressed a hot kiss to the inside of her wrist, hot mouth and soft lips, taking liberties without asking permission. "I think I can agree to that, my dear."
