Re: dead guys house: des, newt, & pat
[Patrick was not gone long. He found the dead man upstairs, and he did not spend time with him. Newt had examined him, man, and Patrick had seen enough death during his four years spent in the academy; he knew dead. He was not even thinking about the war, because this was different. This was not a battlefield and a world to save, and the dude was enough black and white that he could easily reconcile himself to violence wrought during a battle. But this was not that, and the dude clutched his stones and lifted the corpse. It turned his stomach somewhat, but this was not a strong reaction; those, too, had come and gone early during training.
He did, however, dump the dead man onto the floor of his tree home. No one would come here, and he would return and bury this man. But there were things to be done first, and he was certain he still smelled of death as he came back down the stairs and into the kitchen. Destiny was typing, and Newt was standing, and Patrick did not know about Wyatt. He looked at Newt, then back at Destiny.] I am sure Wyatt is well. We will find out where he is, but, Des you should not use someone else's laptop. They'll check the history. [At least his police training was going to be useful in covering up this crime scene, and, man, that was something he was absolutely going to need to deal with his personal conflicts about. Later.]
Did I hear you say we must kill the animals? [He did not expect Newt to do anything of the sort, and he looked between them.] All right, look, Des, Newt will take you home and to find Wyatt. All right? I will take care of the animals, clean up here, and then I will come there also. [They could not leave her alone. This was not a permanent solution, man, but it was all Patrick had at present. He stood there, looking young and golden and determined. His morals were not all right with any of this, but he had made the decision, man, and the decision was going to remain made.]
