Re: dead guys house: des, newt, & pat
[Patrick was relieved when she said she thought she remembered acquiring the bruises. The dude was not wearing his badge, but he officially worked for law enforcement, and he really wanted this to be cut and dry. Not that he would turn Des in if it was not cut and dry, but he would have his own guilt about the matter to deal with. He had gone into the law because of Con, man, but he did have a most black-and-white moral filter, which was only now starting to develop shades of gray.
But Des looked up at him with horror in her eyes, and Patrick knew nothing here was going to be cut and dry, man. He almost longed for the chron and the ability to go backward in time, but this was Webster's concoction, and the stones alone did not work this way; he was not going to fuck with Webster's insanity causing machines.] It's all right, Des. Look, whatever happened was not deliberate. You would not deliberately harm anyone. I know this. [He did know this, but it did not clarify what happened now, and the dude felt too young as he sat there and glanced toward the stairs again.] Once Newt returns, we will get you home, all right? And then we will ensure this place is cleaned up.
[He could get some luminol and make sure no blood or fingerprints remained.]
