Archie paused where he was when Wren appeared, his head cocked with both surprise and interest. He hadn't really known what he should be expecting, so Wren's unkempt appearance didn't really shock him. If anything, Archie was absolutely enchanted, as though he'd just stumbled across a kitten tumbling in leaves.
"Hello!" he beamed, starting up again, getting closer. Wren smelt of the earth, and Archie didn't mind that at all. And he didn't hesitate to put his arms around Wren, all but nuzzling into his neck, breathing him in. Wren was definitely human. But there was an undercurrent of something there that Archie needed to know. "It's so lovely to meet you!"
He stepped back after a few long moments, gently touching some of the flowers he might have dislodged.
Archie pursed his lips, looking Wren up and down again. He was a little taller than Archie (but nearly everyone was) though he thought it wasn't unlikely that Wren could fit into his clothes...but he didn't want to force anything on his new friend.
"We'll go and get our milkshake, shall we?" he asked brightly. "Or, if you like, you can come back to my place and freshen up, then we can go- whatever you prefer. We're only going up to town." Archie took Wren's hand in his own, squeezing his fingers gently. "I'm so excited to give you your first milkshake! I remember mine, it was just dreamy!"
