Re: Loitering: Cat C & Reece E
Few people, in Reece's estimation, were 'about' killing. Assassins, I guess. Which Cat was. But, most other people weren't 'about' it. So, no, he wasn't about killing, but he wasn't bothered by the news as much as he would've been if the bodies were a) occupied and b), like, not stolen (he assumed this was how it was done). So, he was—more or less—fine with what Cat had done and he could see the mercy in it. He'd probably want someone to do the same for him. Hell, he would've wanted them to do it those six months in 'the hole,' which was what he called it in his had. What he didn't need to do, however, was talk about it.
Reece wasn't on tenterhooks the way Cat thought. He was nervous and he tended to fumble and fidget, but he wasn't going to run away. As evidenced by his question about dating. He wasn't sure he liked Cat's definition and he didn't actually believe her, that she wouldn't draw blood. Well, no, sure, probably not, but she would want to, and Reece didn't exactly enjoy making other people feel miserable. "Uh. No. I don't want to. And you can say it. That I'm gay or whatever? I'm really interested in people like that, man. Not like everyone else is." That was still true. While he'd come around in regards to Cat—as a male—, and while he thought about things and stuff, Reece didn't feel what he imagined everyone else felt, which was like, overwhelming lust all the time. Because, shit, they sure did talk about that shit a lot.
When she said he could sit closer, Reece shifted, so he wasn't crawling on the couch, and he scooted into the middle, then a little closer. They were pretty much the same height. Reece was maybe an inch or two taller. This close, Cat's old perfume was powerful, and Reece who didn't know... what was like, allowed? So, he started putting his arm around Cat's shoulder, then worried he shouldn't, but he was already almost there—uh...., okay, he just settled it on the back of the couch. They were almost hip to hip. Reece glanced over. He whispered to Cat next to him, "This is a little weird."
