Re: Ragnar and Marta: Museum
Ragnar cast his eyes down to look at Marta after a pause, nodding his head. "Yes. A wheel. That's the idea. I enjoy it. I find the idea of being put in a box in the ground a little- final. I would like something more immersive. Come, please-"
He guided her gently towards the next room. "The Greeks were always interesting. Their burials helped us to learn so much about their lives, and where we came from. They loved filling their tombs with things-" Ragnar pointed to a display case of many artifacts that had been taken from tombs. "They had horses buried with them, their dogs, some of them had their servants. Funerals are mentioned in a lot of the literature from the time as well, poems, plays- But I do think them burying so much stuff with their dead has been incredibly beneficial to us."
Again Ragnar paused, looking around the room at other grave goods, a few pictures on the walls of the tombs swarming with archaeologists. "I do like that they thought it important to prepare them for the afterlife. All of these things. Things they might need- I find it fascinating. And that this belief is found not just in southern Europe, but in northern Europe and Asia and South America- a common idea that our souls would need things to see them through."
