It was getting chilly out and Ron would much rather have sat indoors at the cafe. He didn’t like much being cold, but then again, it wasn’t as though he weren’t wrapped up warm. Sitting down opposite him, Ron sat his bag on his lap and reached immediately for one of the laminated menus on the table. He was going to order a lunch and it was going to be a big lunch. He poured over it, checking the numbers against what he could remember from Hermione’s lecture on the topic and finally made a decision.
As Malfoy said he was scared of people reoccurring in his dining room, Ron’s intrigue couldn’t help but he piqued. Of course. People must have been offed there, at the stupid Manor. “Who are you expecting?” Ron asked as he flagged down a pretty waitress. Without waiting for Malfoy to tell him what he wanted, Ron ordered the same thing for both of them along with a large pot of coffee and, of course, the carrot cake that Ron could add from outside.
He did not stop himself from checking the pretty woman out as she walked off and turned back to Malfoy once she’d gone, rifling through his bag for a cigarette.
“You do look like a skeleton, though,” he said, not unkindly.
