Herdis pressed close, letting her hands skim down his sides as she rested her head on his shoulder. "I'm here now." She said softly. "I am sorry I was not before."
They needed to talk, that was true, but she kissed his neck anyway, because she could read the pain that he had been through in his eyes and how he held his frame. She hated to see it, and she hoped that would soothe it somewhat.
