Unlike Fujiko, Vanitas was having trouble finding anything familiar. He had traveled to a great many worlds, but hadn't paid attention to much other than finding convenient nooks and crannies to infect with ill-intentioned monsters. That type of job didn't leave much time for cultural assimilation.
Even food was somewhat of a mystery to him: something he was trying to play off by holding a piece of pizza (not that he knew it was called that) on a paper plate in a way he knew looked casual. Vanitas was headed back to the building so he could examine the slice in private, but what he didn't count on was the flimsy plate to succumb to gravity, causing his pizza to slide off and land in the sand.
He stopped and looked down at it, his already slight frown widening.
