Well, it took me a few to digest this, but I think I am calm enough to discuss it. This comment is going to be quite lengthy though so many apologies for it. This is a wonderful concept of a game and a few of the people I've talked with (in the game and out) are upset to see it is closing so quickly. I could link sources to show this if necessary, but I rather they just come out with their own thoughts on this post.
I know, personally, I've gone out of my way to promote this game to a lot of individuals. Most were not interested in joining until after the first therapy session because they didn't want to join this week and have to recover one of their memories right off of the bat. Which is understandable, so I was anticipating that it would be slowish in terms of reserves/apps placed for that week, but I figured all the current users would be posting throughout the week due to their therapy.
It sucks that the mod team is unable to keep up with the obligation, but isn't it standard to try to push the game on to another volunteer before letting it fall apart? It is perfectly fine for people to have their own lives and such, real life will always take priority, but there are people here who would like to keep the game going. I am sure the volunteers will make themselves known without me having to make such a big stink about it.
If anything, the only issue would be the giant casts sticking together, but that is bound to settle down once the characters themselves get past the "omg so&so is here!" and "what is going on how do I therapy" issues.
I don't understand how it's fallen on a downhill slope to end this post with. This upcoming week was going to be the first therapy session which is what this game is primarily focused on, so closing it before that really isn't a fair way to judge the game. It was commented before that this was a slow paced game and it has been perfect in that sense. Not to mention, the past couple of weeks have been midterms for assorted schools. I thought it was generally accepted that this was a slow time across the board for almost all roleplay games. The ones that are really active have huge Halloween events going on right now that people don't want to miss, but we were sort of cut short on our major event (therapy).
