Maybe, Joey thought, he was just from another planet and was of the political stance that other planets should be left alone rather than explored. So, when he didn't know what she was talking about, that didn't really faze her too much. What did catch her off guard was his assertion that he ought to know about Starfleet if it was a real thing, essentially, and then the subsequent question of the year. Joey blinked, looking back at him a little curiously. "...it's 2266," she said slowly, almost asking rather than stating, because...well, that was a weird question for him to ask and it almost made her second-guess herself, even though she was fully confident of the date. March 10, 2266, to be more specific.
The offer for a piggyback ride was actually appealing, except for the fact that he was a total stranger. Joey hesitated for a moment, chewing her bottom lip, before looking down a little and nodding sheepishly. "...that would be kind of amazing..." she admitted, looking back up at him almost apologetically. It was undoubtedly going to be awkward, but it sure beat the hell out of walking barefoot through unfamiliar terrain.
