Her comment about plumbing and electricity had him arching a brow at her. He understood the basics of what electricity was and how it worked, but having it inside a building wasn't something that he was used to. Lights were candles and had nothing to do with electricity. He was distracted, partially, at the mention of how many people there were. Thirty was a lot of people to be pulled from their homes in the way that he and his sister had been. He didn't like that, not at all.
Barry's explanation of his need to eat a lot was confusing as well. The guy wasn't gigantic, after all. It wasn't as though he were a massive troll with a lot of weight to keep up. Strange. He kept that thought to himself, though, mostly because he didn't want to be awkward about the questions he had. Then Barry was back to talking about the lights and water and "getting them going". It was such a confusing sort of comment but he said it as if it wasn't that strange a concept at all.
"I want to find my sister," he told him. "The... lights and water I can figure out later." Maybe. Right now Gretel mattered more. He moved into the building, then glanced around. It was such a strange interior. He wasn't certain what to think about it. "Thank you," he said. "For your help. Both of you."
