Barry took the bag a little faster than what he really should have, praying that what he thought was in there actually was. He glanced in the see the familiar bars and he huffed a weak laugh of relief, and it took everything that he had not to reach in and take one of the bars now to eat right in front of them. He had been slowly starving ever since his arrival, but for now he reached in and took the box labeled for Joey to hand it to her, alleviation etched into his expression as he began to walk to lead them back to the apartments. He made sure that he was between Joey and Hansel out of his own protective nature; not only was Joey more helpless than he was, something that he wouldn't say aloud because it would probably sound insulting, but she was valuable. And she was good. Barry liked Joey, she was always trying to help other people, and although Hansel didn't seem to offer any threat in that moment Barry didn't really know who he was.
"We'll show you where the rooms and staircase are so you can see, but Gretel is still here, I'm pretty sure. She was looking for you when she arrived," he explained to the man, and he finally gave in, reaching into the bag and grabbing a bar to tear it open and take a bite. His eyes closed as he chewed and he was pretty sure that the chalky density of protein was the best thing that he had ever tasted. "Sorry," he apologized to both of them sheepishly. "I'm just... I'm starving." He glanced at Hansel. "Joey and I have been here for almost a month now, so has Gretel. If you need help with settling in, let me know, but there are a bunch of different things that people have been doing around this place. Hunting, farming, foraging... Joey is the nurse." He offered a smile at her, already feeling his energy starting to return as he took another bite. "She pretty much keeps us alive."
