Joey rolled her eyes. "Oh yeah, I get lots of things...that aren't for me," she replied with a small smile. "But yeah, we do need them so here's hoping that this is like the last delivery." She followed Barry out of the building and she, too, spotted the newcomer.
Barry didn't actually have to say what he had; she knew it already. The fact was that this place had her paranoid already and no amount of living next door to Steve was going to change that. Joey didn't trust anyone, anymore. Not really. Her goal was to keep everyone at an arm's length unless they gave her a reason to believe she ought to do something different. Still, she gave a small nod to acknowledge Barry's suggestion that was really more of a politely-toned order and she did as she was told.
When Barry introduced her, Joey gave a little wave, raising one hand and wiggling her fingers in a shy version of one. Her eyes moved back and forth between the men and she chewed her bottom lip, hoping that Gretel was still around...and well. The last time Joey had heard from her, she'd been in pretty bad shape. She'd been largely keeping to herself to recharge between the time everyone was ill and the time she'd run into Jesse and had become a subsequent basketcase of suspicion.
"Thanks for bringing it and letting us know, Hansel. It's nice to meet you and we appreciate it," she said. "Like I said, I think her name was on the first or second floor, so you'll just have to check the doors." She gestured back toward the building. "You gotta check 'em anyway to find your room, as it is, so two birds with one stone, right?"
