Barry had publicly brushed off the fact that someone had tried to pretend to be him in order to get the bars that were delivered, but really, he was fuming. This wasn't the time or the place to play games, and it had better have been a game or they were all in trouble. The last thing they needed was a thief in the commune, not when resources were still so precious, and Barry didn't enjoy being targeted. How were they supposed to trust each other here if someone was a liar? And how would they survive together if they couldn't trust each other?
Barry tugged on a simple tshirt and jeans before hurrying to the lobby where he saw Joey standing, and he offered her a smile before clapping her on the shoulder gently. "Hey," he greeted kindly, nodding his head to gesture for her to follow as he started to walk out of the building. "You keep on getting these deliveries, huh? Good. I hate to admit that they help, but they help." He saw someone walking their way in the distance, and he kept his voice low as he waved to the stranger.
"That must be him. Just stay next to me, we don't really know who he is yet," he reminded her, although he knew he probably didn't have to. He didn't speak again until they were face to face with Hansel, and Barry offered his hand to shake. "Hey, I'm Barry. This is Joey." He gave a tired sigh of annoyance. "Welcome to the commune. Sorry, we don't really have welcome parties. Although I doubt that you want one at this point."
