His response surprised her a little and she could feel the warmth moving into her cheeks with a blush to match his. "Thank you?" she asked more than said, huffing out a quiet laugh as she pushed a wet piece of hair off her cheek and behind her ear. "It's kinda cold, but...it's also kinda nice," she added to the point he'd made about taking a swim. "I've had a long week; it's a nice way to relax without having to still be inside, I guess."
Clearing her throat, she slid back down into the water, swimming back a little ways as if to let him know that he was welcome to come in if he wanted, but she wasn't going to outwardly extend the invite because she knew herself well enough to know that if she tried, she'd find a way to make it awkward. "I'm Joey, by the way," she said, wondering if he was one of the people she'd talked to on the journal and just hadn't met him to put a face to the name.
