Sam actually let out a humourless laugh at her saying she'd pretend to believe the lie. "I appreciate that." He said before his expression shifted back. "Don't get a lot of cause for faith myself, I mean, I know there's a higher power but it's never done a whole lot for me or my brother."
Sam fell silent again as she talked about the experiment and 'bad science'. Wasn't the whole point of an experiment to test something to it's limits to see how much it could withstand? Surely then some of the test subjects had to be pushed beyond that to see where the line was. Sam couldn't shake the sinking feeling that that might be what was happening here, but there was always the chance that Joey was right so he didn't voice that thought.
"Hey, you're basically taking care of half of the people in here, probably more. That's not something that 'just some kid' would be able to do. I'd never think that, and anyone who does is an idiot." Sam assured her, and though he didn't expressly say so he would give her suggestion consideration, once everything wasn't quite so raw.
He nodded at her as she backed away. Okay. Thanks, Joey." He said. He figured now was probably as good a time as any to go and check in on Dean. He'd come back later to make sure Gretel was still contained.
