For three years, Austin's city borders have been restricted to a much smaller area in order to best protect the survivors who call the city home. After the City Council voted against the building of a government water plant in the Greenbelt, they created an alternate proposal to reclaim the Mansfield Dam on Lake Travis, northwest of Austin. The U.S. Government has approved the proposal and construction will be beginning in February 2020 in order to ensure safe travel to and from the Dam as well as create safe housing and facilities around the area. The area will be walled up much like downtown Austin, and entry/exit into each area will be controlled.
If your character wants to move to the 'suburbs' of Austin or open up a business in the area, they can apply for a permit and move to the area in March 2020!
What's Going On In The Greenbelt?
Though patrols -- both official APD and unofficial Hellhound -- have increased in the Greenbelt as a result of the arson and assault that have taken place over the last two months, no suspects have been taken into custody yet. Tensions are beginning to build in the neighborhood and spreading into other districts, especially if you look in the right corners of the Freenet. Irritation and frustration towards the APD and Capitol -- a sense like "If we weren't the Greenbelt, this would've been figured out by now" -- are beginning to grow. Another fire on February 4 won't help matters either (see sign-ups in the comments); what will be the APD's response?
