Maizie & Bea.
"It's so weird!" Maizie agreed. Plenty of people would have thought that getting a hug from a girl who you'd only barely known once was a little bit of a surprise, but hey, it was the zombie apocalypse and even a slight connection with someone alive was worth celebrating. Anyway, Maizie was a hugger, and apparently Bea was too. So she returned the short embrace, grinning from ear-to-ear.
“I think it sounds pretty cool. I mean, I know it's going to be, like, a ton of work, but at least we’re doing something. You know?” Maizie shrugged. That was assuming, of course, that the plan would work at all, and that s’mores or zombies or these new raiders wouldn't screw the whole thing. But it always better to try than to give up before getting started. “Taking back Austin or something like that.”
Maizie glanced around the room, noting a few unfamiliar faces mixed in with the more familiar ones. Leaning in just slightly and lowering her voice, she added, "I hope everyone can just manage to get along while we do this, you know?"
