Rodeo walks with her, of the same mind. His heart is sinking with every step, surer by the moment that something terrible has happened to Kodiak and Ibs. It's wrenching at his guts and battering his already sore heart. As they move towards the staircase that will lead them down to the vaults, Rodeo wonders if he should be afraid. If he should distrust this woman he walks beside. But he can't find it in himself to believe Teagan could be untrue, and if she were, let her put a bullet between his eyes at the bottom of this staircase. He wouldn't want to live knowing she betrayed him anyway.
"You don't reckon I made the wrong move, bitin' 'em the way we did outside the courthouse?" Rodeo asks abruptly, looking to Teagan. "I just-- I don't feel like I'm makin' the right moves lately. Anywhere. Seems like all I can do is wrong these days."
