His words make her smile faintly, and she nods though her eyes are cast down on the bag of candy. His vote of confidence really does mean something, the fact that he doesn't necessarily think her less because her particular skill set in life led her to marriage and a cushy spot, instead of female Rambo status, big guns, and a leathery complexion. She knows there are plenty of people who would disparage the choices she has made to get by, but nobody really matters like Rodeo and Sarge do, anyway.
"I did," she echoes, and then she leans a little, just enough to nudge his shoulder with her own, briefly. She can't go easy on him forever. "Can't deny I wish I'd had all the information, though," she adds. "You two out here building up a goddamn doggie daycare empire." She doesn't say it bitterly, because there's just no point in any of that, and none of them had any way of knowing they were all so close together. But there's a little something wry there that compares the way they've ended up, and the way it could have been. At the moment she doesn't particularly care what that all tells him about her relationship with the person who put that ring on her finger, if it tells him anything at all. She knows him to be discreet, and she just plain isn't feeling cautious tonight with everything else.
