Bishop and Nate- 10
Years of friendship has honed Bishop’s skills in understanding Nate’s heavily accented words. It’s a relief though when his best friend assures him that it’s nothing dire that’s spurred him on to search him out. Dire is not something he wants to deal with tonight, not when the whole night is about celebrating Adelaide’s homecoming. “So what you’re saying is you just missed me?” he fires back, lopsided smirk turning up his mouth.
Things have been a whirlwind of chaos since the shootout and Bishop has been remiss in spending time with Nate and Bunny, but there’s no denying he’s relieved to have them both living permanently at the Dog Park. Having them here means he’s got one less thing to worry about, Nate no longer skirting the possibility of being caught as a Hellhound supporter. “You know I ain’t ever been one to turn down Bunny’s cooking,” is his reply as he moves the full crate of moonshine off the table and replaces it with an empty one. “And I’m sure Teagan would be more than happy to join us.” He still counted it a damn blessing that she forgave him for the chaos that was kicked up when Willa came riding into camp.
And then just like that Nate’s cutting straight to the one thought that Bishop’s been trying to squelch all night.
“No, I don’t think it is,” Bishop admits, casting a sideways glance in his friend’s direction. “And I ain’t got a fucking clue if it’ll ever settle down. I hope it will though, war doesn’t last forever after all,” his expression softens as he adds. “You and Bunny are talking kids?”
