Under different circumstances Sarge would have punched Rodeo in the head for coming up with such a ridiculously stupid idea, but as it is this seems like the most logical approach. Because nobody in their right mind would send Sarge to deal with pigs. Not the guy who struggles to keep his temper in check during council meetings, which involve people he actually cares about. So this deal has given him a lot to fret about, and it shows. He hasn't slept properly since Addie was arrested, and there has been a lot of teeth grinding all the way to the courthouse, because there are still so many things that could go wrong. But above everything else he trusts his best friend, and if anyone has a brain made to maneuver them out of this uncomfortably tight spot, it is Rodeo.
The tension is obvious when he gets out of the truck, but now that the moment is here he feels as calm and focused as he used to once he stepped into the ring, and for that he is very grateful. Sending a silent thanks to Bob he makes his way to the pigs, and the knowledge of what is really about to go down doesn't only help to keep him calm, but gives him a certain edge that makes him look almost smug. He is wearing his cut, of course, but underneath he is wearing an ACAB hoodie he recently obtained, with a snarling pig in uniform on it, and he makes sure it is visible. Something about those uniforms always brings out the worst in him, and the only reason why he isn't trying to get Riesmanns nose to the back of his head with his fists right now is the focus on the plan. Which he reminds himself of in his head, over and over, while he seizes up their company and tries not to touch the guns attached to his belt. He hates firearms, not because he can't handle them - even though they are all not made for lefties - but because he prefers using his fists.
"Conditions of this didn't trickle that far down the command chain, huh. He's stayin' in there until we know she's alright." Sarge speaks deliberately slow, which leaves this open to interpretation. Is he a little slow or does he think the cops are? Since one corner of his mouth is pulled up just slightly it might point towards the latter.
With his arms crossed, feet apart, he looks around them again, making a point of looking at the tanks and everything around them. He doesn't really look like someone that enjoys negotiating, and he really doesn't. But he finds himself enjoying the knowledge that those idiots are falling for this, that they make the mistake of underestimating them. Sarge has operated most of his life banking on people underestimating him, and it still elates him whenever it happens. "Kinda looks like you fellas are overcompensatin' for somethin'," he says, tilting his head towards the show of force. But he makes a note of those damn cannons, hoping that they won't use them - or at least not until he shoved his fellow officers down their escape hatch.
