Lita misses the box Mort throws at her, watching it fall to the floor with quiet despair. She does manage to snag the water bottle and takes several long gulps before she attempts to retrieve the gel caps. Griping, she leans over the edge of the bed and smacks at the box it until she can get it with her fingertips. Gel caps were hard to come by, even living in a hospital and Lita is grateful, even if she can't properly express it at the current time. She sits back up in bed and the room spins. Lita waits until everything returns to more or less the proper place in her vision to swallow the medicine. Her cottonmouth makes it difficult but she swallows the two pills and then turns her attention back to the man puttering around her apartment.
She'd been in no state to call down to the desk last night to give them Mort's name so she was glad he hadn't gone through too much hassle to get up here. Mort is known among the patrolmen at the UMCB, from visiting Lita upon occasion as well as his stint as her bodyguard/valet of sorts when she was driving back and forth from the LBJ every day during the serial killer's reign. They would know he was cleared to come up and see her but probably would've gave him the business just to be difficult. There's no love lost between the Capitol-run UMCB and the independent LBJ.
"Thanks, Mort," she says, clearing her throat and rubbing the sleep from her eyes. She looks at the mugs he presented her and gave a sort of halfhearted shrug.
"I can't verify the last time I've lifted a rag to any sort of eating or drinking vessel so...yeah, you might want to run some water over it first."
She felt mildly guilty about laying in bed feeling sorry for herself and having Mort do all the work, but not so much that she would actually do anything to rectify the situation. She spends so much time caring for other people. Sometimes it was nice to be the one looked after.
"Has, um, Savannah said anything to you about me lately?" Lita asks with forced casualness. She's not sure how much Mort knows outside what she's told him regarding her and Savannah's little tiff and Lita is more than a little curious to see if her best friend has confided in her shelter mate.
