Adelaide shakes her head bouncing Charlie a bit on her knee when he looks like he might start to get impatient. Without taking her attention from Isaac, she wiggles her fingers, tipped in mint green, and the baby grabs for them, successfully sidetracked. "I knew it was him," she says. "He signed them 'Jims', which is what I've always called him. It made sense, he couldn't come to the Capitol with his record. I went alone," she adds, nodding. "I told Rob I was going to the medical center. Volunteering, and I drove myself out. I hadn't... shared much about my brother with him."
Her expression darkens at the talk of Rob. She'd suspected Isaac wouldn't know anything new, but the confirmation twists at her. She might not love the man, but she had never particularly wanted to be his downfall, either. Maybe it was good that everyone in Montgomery had been afraid to date her - it doesn't seem to go very well. "If he was able," she says, a strange little emphasis on that last word. "He would be here. So something is wrong. Just... so you know."
