Savannah never wanted their losses to be in competition with each other but if Babs didn't want to open up to her about it then there was nothing she could do about it. Maybe in their own time and way they would get to that point, but if what Babs needed right now was for her to focus on the work to be done around the library or arrangements for her to settle back in, then that was what Savannah would do.

The thing was, LBJ didn't have running water and traded supplies with the Capitol in order to get water safe for drinking, cooking, and bathing. The river was polluted with the gas they'd dropped over the city but somehow the Capitol still had access to the water treatment plant of Austin. It was something she'd never spared much thought to before but now that all these responsibilities fell on her shoulders, she couldn't help but think of how mighty convenient that was for them.
