“I’ll ask one of the boys to find something in your size,” she said, leading her down the flight of stairs to the second floor, “But, for now, you can borrow a set from mine. They might be a little big, but you won’t have to wear them for too long.” Jadyn was 5’10”, so her clothes didn’t fit most women too well. “We can get you a new I.D. when you’re ready.” They had the whole day ahead of them. Passing her office, Day’s room was located right next to the workspace. She unlocked the door and headed straight for the closet. “I’m guessing you’ll be returning to your room,” she looked over at her momentarily as she took out a t-shirt, shorts, and undergarment, “I can ask Mort to bring Kaleo to Lucy for a checkup while you take a shower if you want.”
Shutting the cabinet back up, Day exited her quarters as she nodded towards her firearms. “And we can put those in storage. You can feel free to take them with you whenever you leave the shelter. We’re just not too comfortable with survivors carrying weapons on them when there are children around.” LBJ was strongly fortified and it was safe. On the off chance trouble did arise, that was what the guards were for. Speaking of her men, she gestured for one of them to come over once they were back on the main floor. “He’ll put your guns away for now while we head out.”
