Sarge never understood why some felt the urge to yell instructions at their fighters while they were in the ring, not only because it never happened with Bob, the only man he has ever met that talks less than him. But it seems utterly pointless when in that moment there is nothing but you and your opponent and everything else is background noise at best. Granted, if something exploded, they would probably notice. Other than that? It's not important.
Sarge has noticed a certain tension in Teagan lately and while it would never occur to him to ask what's going on - he hates people doing that to him so h wouldn't inflict that kind of idiocy on others - he has taken note of it and if this helps her focus, all the better. If it was only him in desperate need for distraction he wouldn't have sparred with her, but like this his own benefit is a welcome side effect.
While she attacks he watches, moving just slightly to avoid the full impact of her hands, and when she lifts her leg for the kick he grabs hold of it and grins. Spinning towards her he grabs her arm instead and throws her over his shoulder onto the ground, taking two steps back instead of following her down because he knows that his unfair weight advantage would most likely end things all too soon if he did.
