Friending a patient had a weird dynamic that Lita, who was normally quite professional, had little experience in. However, with Demi, it seemed to be working out strangely well. Besides the whole infiltrating a government building that contained people who would likely detain her and throw her in La Quinta for who she ran with, all in all this blurring professional lines thing wasn't quite as terrible as everyone, including herself, made it out to be.
Lita squinted her large brown eyes at Demi in mock sternness, shaking a warning finger in her general direction.
"How about you work on not scaring him off in general and then we can work on keeping him around for when I pop by," Lita said, ribbing Demi good-naturedly. "Although I really can't wait to be introduced to him as your regular Saturday night thing. Let's put that standing appointment in our calendars in ink rather than pencil, right? Doctor's orders, yadda yadda."
Somehow along the way, Lita became heavily invested in Demi and, by extension, Isaac now as well. She just hoped they got their heads out of their asses before they ended up throwing something away that could end up being the best thing either of them ever did.
And with a wiggling of her fingers in farewell, Lita turned and left Demi's apartment and into the labyrinthine tangle of corridors of the Capitol building. Even after she had cleared security, a feeling of dread and foreboding permeated Lita's consciousnesses but she refused to let it taint her lovely evening. Sometimes, you just need push the realities of life aside for awhile and allow yourself have a little fun for once and Lita was determined to do just that.
