Oh god. Demi's words combined with that smile could bring any man to his knees. It was overwhelming though. And dangerous. This wasn't real and he knew that. And he didn't even see her that way. But just for a second there he remember what it was like to have those feelings and remembered there was a time where he wanted someone so much that he couldn't wait another minute to have them. It'd been a long time since he'd had that fire inside him, not only for a woman, but for anything. Life was fucked up.
Pulling himself back, hoping he hadn't been lost for more than a couple seconds, he just looked at Demi and nodded. "Yeah, well, happy wife happy life. That's how the saying goes, right? Even if this is..." He trailed off, shrugging.
There was no more time for dwelling because Rose was at the door and it was all a show and dance from here. At least he'd done right by getting Demi the pearls. One of the other wives walked over once they were in the living room and started gawking at the pearls as well. He'd acutally been pretty good at the whole jewelry buying thing with Callie but apparently the streak continued.
He gave one of those shy yet smug at the same time kind of shrugs and smiled. "Well, my pretty girl should have pretty things."
Oh Jesus. Those words seemed over the top to Isaac, but Rose just let out an 'aww' as she looked between them. Yeah, convincing these women he and Demi were an item wasn't going to be a problem at all.
Hand resting lightly on the small of her back, he leaned in until his mouth was at her ear and whispered back, "Yeah, those are the the Adelmann's and the Sanders'. Follow my lead, remember, honey?"
At their little exchange, Mrs. Sanders let out another squeal of delight. "Aren't you two just the sweetest?"
