Ezra listened, and didn't argue. He wasn't sure what they might need the door for, but he didn't see the point in trying to say anything different when Mort had his own methods.
He did pay attention, though. He noted what Mort was carrying, and knew if he did see one again, he would pick it up, just in case. He also watched carefully as it was used, so he would be able to use it with less fumbling.
"I'm ready," he told Mort, shifting to stand just far enough back from the door that if something was on the other side he'd be just far enough out of reach that it would overbalance his attacker. He nodded to Mort to open up the door.
