The world would never run out of Corn Nuts, or at least that was a thought that Erik refused to acknowledge. Corn could be grown and baked. He’d figured out a way to keep a steady supply coming his way even after all the processed ones either expired or ran out. Applying solder to a pin, he heated the metal to melt it before he repeated the same steps with the next two wires.
“I don’t actually go downtown often,” he confessed, screwing the cap back over the spring and plug, “Not unless I need to deliver something to someone or visit the bar. Otherwise, I try to stick to areas near here or outside of the city. Less competition for materials further out than in.” Connecting the headphones to his music player again, he hit the “Play” button. “It’s fixed,” he announced a second later, hearing the beginning of a song by AC/DC come on.
