Who: Mayor Olinger, TR Lansing, Willa Davidson Where: Olinger's Office, Capitol Building When: Sunday, August 9th What: Willa gets briefed on her new assignment, much to her exceptional delight.
One day to settle in after her arrival, to keep everyone's suspicions low rather than reporting to the mayor's office just a few hours after bringing half a dozen head of cattle into the city. She'd spent it with Cal; as he would have expected, as she would have naturally done if the trip to Austin had just been for pleasure rather than for what she was doing now. Acting as though you didn't know where you were going was the surest way to draw attention and questions, so while she wasn't sure exactly where to find Olinger's office - 1E4, 1E4 she repeated silently to herself - Willa walked the halls of the Capitol Building as though her business wasn't to be questioned by any of the unfamiliar faces who received a nod and half-smile of recognition in passing. Finding the door open and two men inside, she rapped her knuckles on the jamb instead.
"I'm looking for Mayor Olinger," Willa inquired, internally still curious as to why it was the Mayor who had called her here to speak with him, rather than the governor or the police chief, unless his fellow happened to be one or the other. Governments weren't infallible, even without the threat of zombies in the mix, and it was plausible that Willa was unaware of exactly how the leadership flow chart was being applied in the Capitol these days. "Willa Davidson, my brother Cal set me up with a room temporarily, and I'm here to ask about extending the stay."
