"Ms. Clarke? It's Nate..." a delay in making any remarks about what he had for her. Even if there were few people around he was still in the hallway and there had been rumors about bugs and spies. The saying 'the walls have ears' was apt here at the Capitol. Or, it felt as if that was the case. Of course he had no definitive proof that anyone was spying on him in particular. He was trying to fly low, get under the radar but that was harder for a tall Scotsman with a penchant for rebellion.
