Nate could have lived in a cave and his home still would've been the most welcome sight Bunny had ever seen. She stayed mute, too moved to speak, as he spun her around to take it all in. The simplicity was a comfort; anything grand would've been too strange. This, this felt perfect. It had a roof, a door that locked, a shower, and (because it was Nate) more books than anything else. There wasn't a thing, in this moment, that Bunny would've changed.
By the time Nate settled her on the bed her eyes were damp again with more happy tears. She made no apologies for them, simply laughed delightedly and leaned in to hug him again, tightly enough to bury her face against the crook of his neck. After a moment she drew back enough to answer him, but kept her arms still looped loosely around him.
"I don't know," she answered. "I want everything so much that I can't decide." While part of her longed to hear every single thing that had happened to him since they were last together, that was bound to take a while, and she didn't really want to spend their whole first night together just talking. With that in mind, it was easy to decide after all.
"You." She pressed her lips to his just briefly, alternating kisses with sentences. "I don't need to eat." Kiss. "I don't need a shower." Kiss. "I just need you."
Then Bunny pulled Nate in close, planning to take full advantage of the fact that they were finally, completely alone. Just short of their mouth meeting though, she paused, looking up at him with an expression that balanced between sweet and a little bit coy.
