Re: 2/2
His eyes narrowed at Olinger. At his words. At the way he spoke to him. At the way he basically just got backhanded verbally by the little creep. Clenching his teeth, he rubbed at his knees a bit as he dragged his gaze away to look at Archer, when his friend's hand came out to touch his arm-- as if to tell him it was alright, or something. As if to tell him to calm the fuck down.
Was Archer serious?
Of course he was.
The fucker was going to be the better man. It was one of the reasons that Brannon loved the sonofabitch, but dammit, he didn't like this. He didn't like this one bit. He'd always wanted to be by Archer's side if he ever made Chief. But he'd never expected it to be like this.
Frowning, he kept his eyes on his partner. Don't you do it. Don't you fucking say it, Archer. Don't you thank that little fucker. Don't. Just don't. Brannon knew Archer too well. As soon as he said it, as soon as Archer thanked Olinger and also had the nerve to fucking call him 'sir', Brannon inhaled sharply through his nose and straightened up as he turned to give another glaring look over toward Olinger.
He scoffed, "Son of a bitch." It was an exclamation more to the situation than either of the two men. But sure, if they wanted to think he called them a name, go right ahead.
He had to get up. He had to move. He had to move, or he was going to punch the little twerp in the face.
Pushing to his feet, he moved to pace over near the fireplace. Gesturing over toward Archer and the others to keep the fuck going, when Archer said that they were witnessing, he nodded. Sure, it was a what-the-fuck-ever nod. But sure. okay, he was witnessing. Sure. Crossing his arms over his chest, he stared across at Archer. He was proud of his friend, he truly was. but he didn't like this. Not this way. That didn't mean that he wouldn't have Archer's back. He would. Brannon O'Brien would stand by Archer Avery until either of their dying days. But he was completely, and totally pissed at the moment. Like, he wanted to punch kittens he was so pissed. Like, he should probably go to the hospital, after this, he was so pissed. Ollie had definitely caused a rise in his blood pressure, that was for sure.
