There are a lot of things in this camp that they built that Sarge thinks they should be proud of, even if he would never admit to any such thing because that also equals being vulnerable to any and all criticism. But they built a home for themselves and so many others from virtually nothing, and that is something he can't argue away. This is more of a home than either he or Rodeo ever had and he knows that his best brother loves this trailer more than most people would understand.
The glances he steals at both of them over Sweet Melissa's head are meant to be stealthy, but he catches Rodeo's eyes and shrugs. He is far from an expert on matters like these and right now he would very much prefer to bolt and find a herd of zombies to throw himself into because dealing with them is significantly easier.
With a soft ear between his fingers he finds it a lot easier to stay where he is though and he looks up, trying to figure out whether he should say something or not. "I know, the grandeur of this place is a lot to take in at first but the effect of the Dog King's palace wears off over time." Maybe he should have paid attention to his mouth instead of trying to figure out how to use his words.
