From Graham's reaction, Dani guessed that the rumors she'd heard about the living accommodations at the Capitol had been accurate. There were logical reasons why they had nicer things, she knew, but it was a hard pill to swallow sometimes nonetheless. Still, things were even more crowded at the LBJ, since it was smaller to begin with. At least that was something.
"The last time I checked, we had over 2500 residents. The UMCB can hold a lot of people, but not if it's going to function as a hospital as well. We can't have anyone sleeping in the lab or the OR."
The sentiment that Graham expressed was sweet, really, but the hospital hardly had the best of the best. It wasn't as badly off as some that she'd heard about, but cost-cutting measures hit even the most well-funded facilities.
"The best the apocalypse can offer, maybe," she replied, returning his smile. "Fixing this will definitely win you favor with the nurses, though, and that's never a bad thing to have."
