"Not anymore?" Rodeo repeats, arching his brows at that statement. It seems like a terrible thing, to stop doing something that you love. And Rodeo's sure she loves it. He could tell when he saw her on the board, and he can tell even more now when he sees what care she takes in teaching him. "Why not? You lookin' for a good space for it or somethin'?"
Rodeo listens to her instructions on how to get the board moving, keeping his eyes on the skateboard beneath him so he can visualize it the way she's telling him to do it. He nods in understanding when she's done and positions himself once more before he tries kicking off the way she instructs. He slides smoothly across the tile, but when he reaches her he fumbles on stopping, and he trips up and stumbles a few steps before he recovers his footing and stops the board from rolling off with his boot. He gives a little laugh, clearly enjoying himself, shaking back his hair and getting back on. "That's a trick I just invented," he declares, pushing off again to skate in the opposite direction. "Call it the kickflop."
