"You know I love it when you actually pay attention to what I'm trying to teach you," Josh quipped in response, raising his eyebrows knowingly, even though Olivia was usually pretty good about focusing on their lesson instead of doodling in her notebook. He didn't say anything, either, as Olivia silently relocated and flexed her hand. His skin was still warm from where she touched him, and the spot on his back where her hand was touching now was making it incredibly difficult for him to listen when she started talking again. It'd been so long since anyone had hugged and held onto Josh like this, even though he's had so many opportunities by any number of the willing camp bitches.
But it wouldn't have been the same with them. Josh barely even knew them, but he knew Olivia, and even when she held back her feelings and tried to shove them away, Josh knew they were still there, and that she felt something when they were together. Friendship, maybe something a little more, whatever it was, it was a genuine connection that they'd built after countless study sessions and soccer games and diner runs. They weren't in a relationship by any means, but they had history. And they probably knew more about each other than they'd be willing to admit to. And Josh needed that, some semblence of an emotional connection, before he felt comfortable being intimate with anyone. "I try," Josh replied, nodding seriously.
Josh had barely registered Olivia's words before she was kissing him, and found that this was a much better alternative than having to think of something clever to say in return. He moved a hand to gently cup Olivia's face, and slid his other hand to the small of her back, right above the waistline of her jeans. Only when Josh needed to take a breath did he move his head back slightly. "What was that for?" He asked, smiling.
