"Nothing about this is normal," she said, the words coming out more petulantly than she'd intended them to. Josh's hands were warm and steadying, though, almost reassuring in the way they settled onto her shoulders. She brought one of hers up and onto his, tucking her thumb underneath his palm.
Olivia tilted her head up to meet Josh's eyes, smiling briefly despite herself at his expression. "You're sweet. Did you know that?" She still couldn't quite reconcile the guy in front of her with the raiders she was so terrified of. "I don't want to just -- I mean, it could've easily just been me. I saw her that morning. The day she died. Maybe whoever it was saw her out in Austin and followed her back. I --" Her breathing was quickening then, her mind getting ahead of itself. She closed her eyes. "Sorry. I just --" The whole thing was a mess. She was kind of a mess.
