John is an unknown factor. Most of them are. Sparrow finds he can't trust any of them but his own, and even those he must be careful about. So when he hands a detonator out to John, he knows he's handing out an unknown. If he does his job right, he moves up; if he doesn't, Sparrow's got no trouble dispatching him for it. The Ghouls must respect that: there are no failures allowed. They are better than that.
He inches a little closer to John, right hand on his bow and left on one of his own detonators.
"Are you ready?" he says. His voice is low, careful; it won't carry farther than John's ear. But ready or not, they'll be doing this. If John can't keep up, that's his own problem. But Sparrow feels confident, somehow that John will carry through. Something about his hair. Yes. Definitely.
