"I had a tomato," Josh agreed sadly, wishing the stalk was standing tall and the leaves were green and alive. He didn't have the heart to tell Teagan that he'd used said tomato on fresh salsa at the time. That was just cruel, to rub it in like that, when he hadn't even had the opportunity to share with her because somebody had eaten it all. With his help. But still. It was mostly Nora.
He nodded, and drank some more. "Princess was talking about it - I don't know how far she's gotten, but I know she's looking into it. I could barely keep a pet rock alive, but I'd be willing to study up and learn how to keep a greenhouse going if it meant fresh produce again. Because if there is one thing I'm good at, it's studying." Josh said firmly. Obviously, he was good at other things, too, but school was where he shined. He was a good test taker, and enjoyed learning new things, and putting effort into his assignments. But none of that mattered anymore because what was left to study? You learned by experience now, mostly, but damn it if Josh wouldn't try as hard as he could to make the greenhouse a reality.
