The blonde’s comment garnered a laugh from her, but it quickly quieted down to a meek smile. “It is not possible,” she said with a small shake of her head, “My cousin is very... instilled in his beliefs. I can only go along with them. It is not my place to argue against his decisions. Even if I do, I cannot win.” Now, it wasn’t entirely untrue. Although Nico was not her cousin, he was very committed in his religion and he was obstinate when it came to staying by her side even if she told him to go away. When spinning a tale of lies, sticking as close to the truth was always the best move.
She gave a light shrug before her brows rose in surprise at her request. Arden had expected the blades would earn some interest from the woman, but she wasn’t ready to share with her too much of what she knew. She could always do a few fancy moves for show, but it was not relevant to a dangerous situation and she had a feeling “something” wanted to see a more combative style. “It depends,” she answered with a bit of hesitance, “I am happy you are interested, but I must know if you want to see the sword or the dagger in action. I can show you a few moves with the sword, but I would require a partner for the knife.”
