Tom's tardy player finally responds with the latest tag ever! D:
A machete still wasn't something Tom wanted to see, even if it was being used to communicate a peaceful gesture, but all the same he pocketed the gun he hadn't even been pointing at the other man. He never escalated a conflict in that way, and hadn't even intended to start then. But with their weapons put away, Tom gave Marcus an almost comically disbelieving look. "You know how suspicious that seems to me, right?" But as Marcus had noticed, Tom wasn't in a state to refuse or really, to even doubt the other guy. And even with the wound and the pain, Tom was now sure that he knew this guy from somewhere. He wasn't easily forgotten, and Tom was just having understandable trouble placing him.
Tom couldn't understand the Spanish, but the hiss Marcus released after looking at Tom's wound was a universal sound. "Yeah, yeah, it's probably a bad idea to refuse." Tom was holding it together, but his side was on fire from his groin to his shoulder. He grimaced, and shook his head a little. "Sí, por favor," he repeated with the most shameful accent, and offered Marcus a tight, tired grin. "Make it happen, then. This alley would be a shit place to die, I think. You got it with you?" Referring to the kit, which Tom would otherwise had realized was probably back on the bike. One hand was still holding his side closed though, so besides being on the lookout for biters and for other unwanted company, Tom's observation skills were currently rather low.
"It's a blade wound," he offered, partly reading Marcus's thoughts towards whether or not Tom had been bitten, and he didn't want there to be any confusion there. "Raider caught me with my stuff. Just before you got here." When Marcus approached again, Tom tried to get a better look at him, dark as it was. "Don't I know you?" It didn't come across unfriendly, or even totally panicked. Tom's blood loss had him almost relaxed, and it was only his dire circumstances that made him so trusting. "I swear I've seen you before You sound familiar." He still had to catch his breath while talking, but he didn't feel so doomed while he could still make words. "I think I met you on the road."
