It was so weird for Marina that already these men seemed to believe her and even took her side based on her side of the story alone. One was even offering to go find whoever had beat her up and take care of them. She knew Sparrow would do the same, but that was after knowing him and being loyal to him for so long. She wasn't sure he would make the same offer if he'd stumbled across her and she was a stranger to him. Then again, that was sort of what happened when she was a teenager. He'd found her digging through a dumpster and somehow ended up taking her home to the cartel he was part of. Guys were so weird with their need to protect and deliver justice.
She tried to be as complying a passenger as possible and gave him a bashful look when he set her down on the sofa, muttering, "You didn't have to--I'm heavy. But thank you. You're too--" she trailed off, seeming like she couldn't find the words to describe what she was feeling, but it was definitely a complimentary kind of overwhelmed.
Marina almost couldn't believe her ears when the doctor mentioned 'warm water' since it had been a long time since she'd known that luxury, but this was just proof of the desirable amenities here at the Dog Park. She'd have to wait until she learned more before reporting back.
"Yeah, go ahead," she said, then felt him begin to lift her sweater. The bruise had had a day or so to start forming, so already it was taking on a pretty deep purple color. Basically it was super fucking ugly and Marina actually had no idea how bad it was. If something was broken, she'd probably be in more pain, so perhaps it was just a slight fracture or extreme bruising. "Was out there for more than a day before he found me," she mentioned, glancing over at her rescuer then back to the doc, in case that made some kind of a difference for his diagnosis.
